Give a Horse as a Gift  for any occasion...

Have you, or someone you know, always wanted to own a horse but couldn’t?  We have a solution that makes a wonderful gift for any occasion and helps the horses so desperately in need, without you or your friend ever having to muck out a stall. 

As winter and the holidays approach we are gathering all our resources to help survive the cold months and harsh season. We have developed an opportunity for you to help and participate in our efforts with a tax-deductible donation and, a gift to you.  We are offering, for a one-time fee of $55, a chance to sponsor the horse of your choice from the sponsor list. When you sponsor your favorite Last Chance Ranch equine for yourself or a friend, you help share in the care. Your tax-deductible support helps to offset the cost of food, shelter, enrichment programs and medical care for your new friend. 

This makes a wonderful gift that can be given to anyone; old or young, brother or sister, niece or nephew and especially those folks who you can just never find the right gift for. Kids especially will love the gift of having a horse to call their own, minus the chores. 

For each $55 sponsorship you will receive not only the good feeling that comes

from helping a very special animal in need, but also all the following:

  • Certificate of adoption with 5"x7" photo of your chosen animal
  • Specific information on your chosen horse
  • A personalized card from your new equine friend
  • Membership to the quarterly newsletter “Hoofbeats”

Add for an extra gift:

LCR T-Shirt for an additional $20,
Sweat shirt - $30, or
Jacket for $40.
Specify sizes and we will pick the color.

Adopt an equine long distance on a permanent basis: Your donation helps us to care for them, rehabilitate them, and prepare them for their new family. Some of our equine residents are here longer then others, and some need more specialized care.

$50/month: Directed towards any/all LCR rescues in need. This will go towards feeding and caring for the one that no one else has sponsored.

$100/month: You can choose which rescue (list provided with known history and photos). You will receive monthly photos and updates of their progress.

$200/month: Monthly updates/photos, cards and letters from your chosen sponsored horse, and supervised riding
(if possible). This makes a great gift for someone (child or adult) who cannot have a horse of his or her own.

$300/month: In addition to the above benefits, weekly riding lessons on your sponsored horse (if possible) or on one of our permanent residents. Also priority consideration for adoption of your chosen sponsored horse, (if all criteria meets our policies).

GENERAL (Only the basics) CARE TOTAL/MONTH:

With the addition of Medicine and/or Veterinary Care:

MEDICAL: When 1st arrives at LCR (1st week to 1 month)
Coggins and Vaccines (before out of quarantine)___ $50 - $100
De-Worming (if unknown history)___ $25 - $50
Dental___ $40 - $150+
Blood Work (if necessary)___ $80 - 100/test
Antibiotics/Anti-inflammation (if necessary)___ $30+/day - $200+

VETERINARY: Average Costs (Will vary depending on vet)
Routine Farm Call___ $55+
Emergency Farm Call ___ $80 - 150 just to pull in the driveway on off hours before the exam and treatments begin.
Diagnostic Exam___ $50 - 80
Critical care, surgery, IV's, and more can cost…_$$$$$Thousands.

If interested in helping in this part of our program, please view and print Sponsorship Form and mail in with a your choice from our adoption corral (temporary sponsors) or our new arrivals long term sponsorships. Or the special Sponsor List of our permanent residents. You can choose your new "four footed friend in need". We will keep you updated on a monthly basis on the progress of "your" adopted equine. This makes a great gift for an animal lover who cannot literally own a horse. We would also encourage you to visit since we know the horses love a good pat and some kind words. Please make an appointment to visit so someone is available to help you and show you around. The horses really thrive on attention and knowing someone is out there that cares about them.
