Last Chance Ranch How You Can Help
HELP LCR continue
Helping Dogs!!! Donations
are our number one way of saving animals in need. Dogs and other small companion pets are rescued from area high kill shelters and require blood tests, vaccinations, worming, flea & tick treatments, heartworm prevention, microchipping, spay/neuter, and food. Kennels are heated in winter and air conditioned in summer. Again, special needs can cost hundreds to thousands in order to save one life. Your support is needed to continue to save these lives!
Sponsor a horse and treat it as if it were your own without actually owning one. This program is perfect for the person who wishes to help Last Chance Ranch but does not have the time. Volunteers do the hands-on work and you get the satisfaction of knowing your hard earned money is saving a horses life! This is a great gift idea for that special niece, nephew, friend or loved one. One who loves horses but is not capable of caring for one at this time. For more details check out the sponsorship page.Volunteer your time and
expertise. Experience is not necessary. We need help with the daily care and upkeep of the
animals in need.
Help is also needed for fund raising, office work, farm labor, and fence
mending. For more information about how to volunteer and who to speak to check
out the
contacts page.
Foster Care: We need safe, humane, temporary homes for
rescued animals. If you have an extra stall with turn out or room in your home
for a companion animal in need you may qualify for
this part of our program.
Donations of Materials: Feed and/or medical supplies, grooming items, tack, blankets, tools, buckets, fly spray, building materials, maintenance materials, farm equipment, lumber and fencing materials, office supplies, pet food of all types, paper towels, cleaners, treats, collars, leashes, wormers, Thank you cards, printing, sand, screenings and any item that can be resold for example art work, house hold goods, clean tack, etc. please contact us.Equine Placements : Most of the equines we rescue will eventually become available for adoption and can lead very giving and productive lives. It is recommended that you volunteer or visit several times prior to adopting so that we can match you with an appropriate equine. Assistance and training are available for the novice adopter. Applicants are thoroughly screened and follow ups continue throughout the life of the animal. There is an adoption fee to enable us to recover some of our expenses. Please report suspected abuse or neglect of any animal to your local humane society, local authorities or to your State Veterinarian's office.
Easy Ways of Giving Do you want to help out but you live too far away? Is your schedule already too busy to squeeze in volunteer time? Do you love horses but can’t have your own? You can do more than you realize right from home. • Drop off your newsletter (when you are done reading, of course) at a doctor or dentist office or anywhere that has a waiting room. • Ask us for a change jar label and you can collect funds for LCR at your local 7-11 or Wawa. You need a plastic container and label with our info. Collect donated funds once a week and send them to us. • Ask your local schools to collect pennies all year long to “adopt” a horse for their classroom. We can even arrange a visit for the class with the most donations. • Hold a yard sale, lemonade sale, bake sale, or carwash. • Work for or own a construction company? Are you an electrician, mason, landscaper, grant writer, promoter, or do you know someone who is? We need help in all of these areas of expertise. • Use Good Search (www.goodsearch.com) as your search engine and every on-line search will generate funds for Last Chance Ranch. There is a downloadable toolbar for easy use and it is powered by Yahoo. • Shop on-line at Country Supply (www.horse.com) and designate Last Chance Ranch as your charity of choice. A percentage of your purchases will be donated to Last Chance Ranch. • Shop on-line at I-Give (www.igive.com) and designate Last Chance Ranch as your charity of choice. A percentage of your purchases will be donated to Last Chance Ranch. Tell your friends to use these links as they’re searching and shopping for gifts this holiday season. You can make the difference in these horses lives without ever mucking a stall or scrubbing a water tub.

Carol Erickson
(CBS 3 Meteorologist and Passionate Animal Advocate) Carol's story is about Matt, a boy who only wants a fluffy pet store dog, not a "used" dog from a shelter. When Matt meets a homeless dog, he learns some important truths about shelter dogs, store-bought puppies and the difference one child can make. Great Christmas Gift!
