Last Chance Ranch, Inc. Animal Rescue
Hello Fellow rescuers, yes you, our
volunteers, our
supporters, our animal friends
are rescuers, some rescue animals along with LCR and
some rescue people with your kindness and willing to
help, you all rescue LCR and keep this organization
flowing which helps us help you help so many more
animals. We have done well with our fundraising for the
kennel, but it is just not enough. It is time to panic.
The Township gave us an extension until
June 2010 to have a new building and be out of
the old one with the dogs. The builders are waiting and
can have it built, but the problem is we cannot pay
them. Wow, we have earned $110,000 in a little over a
year with the huge help of
Rachael Rays $25,000 and her Mutt Madness
competition, THANK YOU Rachael Ray, this has been a huge
help, but we still need more. We need at least $200,000 to make this happen to be in a new building. That
is a lot, I know I am asking a lot, but we are all in
this together. Without all of you LCR could not
function, so one more time I am asking of each of you to
put a little more out. Ways to help:
·
We have a letter for a capital campaign,
please pass this out, contact your schools for help,
contact your employers, we have all our financial
records and business plans ready to give to anyone who
request it. Please help us promote and solicit to
everyone and everywhere.
·
You will also be getting multiple emails
for help with upcoming events. We dont always do so
many, but right now we need to be out there and
everywhere in the public eye explaining and promoting
the building of a new facility. Please can everyone give
2 hours of extra help on a weekend to man one of these
events or attend and support. If we all do 2 hours they
will all be covered. This is also a great way to meet
new people that you do not always see.
·
Donations, donation, donations. Although
we like the food and the biscuits, we need $$$, cash
value to put towards the building fund. Any amount will
help. If everyone that reads this gives $5 or $10 WOW!!!

UPDATE SPRING
2010-The
new kennel is well on it's way to completion but more funds are
desperately needed to meet the township deadline.
Any
donation, no matter how large or
small is always welcome and greatly
appreciated.
UPDATE: SPRING 2008-We are so excited about the changes at LCR recently! We have added four new sheds to the property, new fencing
across the street, and
automatic waterers for the horses. The pole barn has been remodeled to
include kennels and an exercise yard for dogs. We are currently working on
completion of fencing on the horse barn side, automatic watering stations on the new property, outside runs for the kennels in
the pole barn, and are considering housing plans for cats.
UPDATE-SPRING 2007:
We are pleased to announce that Last Chance Ranch has officially added
25 acres directly across the street for expansion. The only structure on
the property is a small pole barn. What an exciting time to be involved
in such a worthwhile endeavor. Significant contributors who would like
to commemorate the life of a beloved person, horse, or pet; or recognize
an existing person, horse or pet, may have a stall, room, or building
named in their memory or honor. Named Gift opportunities will be
available for all contributors. Put your name on the wall and help make
it happen. The possibilities are unlimited. This will be a real way in
which you can continue our mission of rescue work.
We need help with:
Digging a well
Adding electric
Site prep to erect a building for 20 stalls and an indoor arena (10 of
which will be used for boarding to offset high costs incurred with our
rescues).
Fencing several areas and adding a few run-in sheds.
Our future plans include
Opening our Horsemanship Program to accommodate year-round training;
evening and inclement weather lessons.
Promoting education with a Conference Room, Volunteer Lounge and
Library.
A Senior Garden and Gazebo, along with a petting area for small
children.
Adding an area to take in small animals such as dogs, cats, goats, and
others that find their way to LCR.
Working with other area organizations to promote wildlife preservation
and rehab.
A Rescue Relief Center for our Humane Police Officers to utilize in
the event of a seizure or disaster.
Let us know how you can help with your donation of money, time, material
or expertise. No matter how little or large, your input makes LCR what
it is today. Thank you for all who have helped and will help make the
new LCR rescue and rehab facility a reality. The expansion will allow us
to meet the growing needs of LCRs services and future plans. The
variety of needs for rescued equines will make the design of a new
facility a valuable resource and educational hub for the community.
Programs with day camps, work-studies, internships, and youth groups are
in high demand; with the expansion completed we will be able to
accommodate the growing need for these services.
LCR has recently become a sponsor for Humane Police Officer cruelty
cases. Our HPO officer responds to and investigates complaints of
cruelty and neglect in several adjacent counties and, when required,
removes the animal in question from further neglect or harm. Our
expansion plans will include facilities to accommodate these animals in
need.
Last Chance Ranch Equine Rescue is 100% volunteer, every dollar donated
is directly used for the health and well being of all horses, donkeys,
ponies, and mules passing our way. We are asking you to assist us with
your tax-deductible donation in this worthwhile endeavor for the future
Last Chance Ranch Equine and Companion Animal Rescue facility.
Please join us as we continue to maximize LCRs positive influence in
the community and meet the growing demand for services. The new
facility, in total 35 acres, will include, but is not limited to the
following state of the art features:

UPDATE March 2005:
LCR has been able to expand and house up to 30 horses thanks to the
wonderful efforts of Graterford State Correctional Institute. LCR has been
given a free lease with full time care takers. To date we have been able
to send some of our long term rehab horses to live on the 74 acre hay
fields of the prison. Inmates and guards care for the horses daily. This
is an ongoing program hopefully to expand to rehabilitation and
instruction utilizing more inmates and the capability to help additional
horses that at this time we do not have room for on the main facility.
Efforts are being focused on upgrading the current 10 acres with state of
the art additions such as an Isolation and treatment barn, better fencing,
additional indoor space for seminars and clinics, and to fix and rebuild
fencing and existing buildings. LCR currently is continuing to seek out new
possibilities for additional land to purchase in the future to continue to grow in our
rescue efforts.
Last Chance Ranch Equine Rescue is 100% volunteer, so every dollar donated is directly used for the health and well being of all horses, donkeys, ponies, and mules passing our way.
We are asking you to assist us with your tax-deductible
donation in this worthwhile endeavor for the future Last Chance Ranch Equine
Rescue facility.
Please join us in making this campaign to continue to be a
positive force in the community, to maximize its positive influence and to meet
the growing demand for its services.

America would not be what it is today without the trusted transportation and enormous workload provided by the frontiersmen's horse. With the increase of today's technology we as humans have forgotten the basic simple life of our ancestors. Without the horse to transport goods and people cross-country, many pioneers would not have prospered so readily. Now the horse, donkey, pony, and mule have become a luxury and a pet. This majestic creature has dazzled many and amazed most with its forgiving, willing, childlike nature that in turn has become it's own devastation. The equine is an expensive and time consuming pet and most inexperienced owners or handlers neglect a horse through ignorance rather than abuse. Outright cruelty to a horse is a human's misconception they can overpower and force a 1500 +/- pound animal into succumbing to its handler's whims.
The advantages of having an expanded facility are to accommodate the growing need for a committed home for a large animal for as long as they need one. LCR is committed to rescuing and rehabilitating the most desperate animals along with finding homes for the unwanted and old. The natural horsemanship teachings will enable even the novice to speak to and understand their horse in their horse's own language.
Please help us help them by making this a reality.
Budget and Business plan available upon written request.
