Hi, I'm Casper

Update 5/8/2006: I am being returned to LCR for financial reasons of my caretakers and am available again for adoption.

Casper has had some continual lameness issues, which we will re-evaluate when he comes home. We are hoping he will be sound for easy trail rides and pampering.

I am a Paint gelding.  I have been at LCR as a lesson horse.  I love attention and being pampered.

More info on me soon....But if you think I might be right for your family, Please fill out the application.

UPDATE:

Casper a ~10 year old 15.3hh gelding, has been trail riding. He will need shoes to go on any hard surfaces. Casper had foundered last spring and has recovered very well. He is sole sensitive, but no other problems have developed. He was used for lessons, but seemed to get bored going in circles. Out on the trails he is virtually spook proof, but likes to play a little in open fields. Before Casper arrived at LCR he was a fox hunter and ridden English. Before he came to the East coast he had lived in Montana as a Western ranch horse. He is broke very well in both English and Western, but is a little rusty on his Western commands. Casper has had most of the winter to rest and recuperate. He has the "springtime spunk" and would need someone with a little experience and confidence. He has a great personality and loves people. He will not kick, bite or in any way harm anyone, although he likes to grab at your close and will steal your hat. He is boss in his field, but is not pushy and his leadership can be easily challenged. He has been worked with in the round pen and Natural Horsemanship. Casper is ready to go to the right family. Casper is having some problems staying sound in his left front pastern area. Some corrective shoeing should help. We will keep you posted.
