A gorgeous Dutch warmblood, 8 year old, 16'2 gelding that has been for sale and was in training when he suffered an injury.
Ruben is a son of
Rhodiamant and
Weltmeyer is his dam sire. He has been trained through 2nd level
dressage and has won all kinds of awards. He has been in jumper training for
the last few months. He had an incredible
amount of potential for the jumpers and he is lovely as a
dressage horse. He is a very kind horse with
a wonderful temperament and no vices.
Ruben will require rehabilitation for his injury but his vet says he will make
a lovely lower level horse for someone. He should be able to continue to jump
up to 3 feet and compete in dressage up to 2nd level.
Ruben has been evaluated by Dr. Randy Bimes
of Quakertown Vet Clinic and he agrees, that with the proper time off and rehab
he will be fine. Right now Ruben is enjoying life as a horse. We have found he
is a bit wimpy in the cold weather since he is body clipped, so even with 3
blankets on he can only withstand outdoors for a couple of hours when it is so
cold. He is making wonderful progress and showing the potential to be a great
"Natural" project. Ruben has been pampered all his life and does not really know
what it is like to be a horse. He is not used to being turned out with others
and doesn't always understand the others "horsey " language. He learns quickly
and loves to play tag. We need to keep his playing to a minimum so he doesn't
reinjure himself.
Ruben will most likely not be available for placement for at least a year or so, but may also become part of the LCR promotional family and live with LCR forever.
