Hi,  I'm NOAH I am being returned to LCR for financial reasons of my caretakers and am available again for adoption. I am sound, but need an advanced beginner or intermediate rider due to my overly sensitive response to aides.

Noah came to LCR in the summer of 2000. He had been living in the back yard of his owner's mother's house since his owner had gone off to college. Noah was greatly cared for and loved dearly. His owner used to show and trail ride and loved him as a pet. His home was a loving one, but not very well educated in horse needs. Noah was not ridden anymore and had a companion to romp with in his 5+acre field with a stall and all the comforts a horse could ask for. He received worming every 8 weeks, routine daily care and more. He was seen by a farrier every 6 weeks, scheduled like clock work, to have, yes, all 4 shoes removed, slightly trimmed and reset. You ask..."Why put 4 shoes on a retired horse?" We figured there had to be a reason, something had to be wrong. No, they were the healthiest 4 hooves I have ever seen...beware of the farriers who are trying to take your money, not do what's right. Most horses, especially pastured/retired ones, Do NOT need shoes. Please visit www.pegasusforge.com for more information on barefoot trimming and alternatives to shoes.

Also, Noah started having trouble eating/chewing. These caring people unknowingly were permanently damaging his mouth and teeth. Noah had lived with this family since he was six years old and through all the training and showing and many barns he had been through, no one once mentioned that a horse needs to see a dentist. By the time Noah came to us his teeth were beyond repair. The dentist did what he could, but could not replace worn away teeth.

Noah eats a complete feed and has no problems living and thriving this way, as you can see he is quite plump. Noah is ~15.3 hh. He is extremely well trained Western. He can be ridden without a bridle using leg pressure and weight position only. Noah is a lot of fun to ride. He was only here a short time when he was placed with a family as the family pet for all to enjoy. He can be ridden by a beginner with instruction, and an advanced rider will make him perform the most gracious abilities. Noah is 100% sound and bomb proof on the trails. He is a lovely mover and gets along with everyone. He acts like a spring chicken despite his age of 25 years young. Noah would probably pass a vet check better than most 5 year olds. He can go on to show, small jumps, western, trails, anything you would desire. He is a real teaching horse and knows more than most people. He's an easy keeper...and no he doesn't need shoes. He just can't eat hay and sometimes his tongue sticks out of his mouth.

Placement Fee: $800
