UPDATE 02/13/2008

Kidd has become a favorite of the LCR president and they have been working extensively together. He no longer needs to be wrapped all the time. We have removed his shoes and trimmed his feet with less of a roll toe so he is standing more evenly and flatly on his front hooves. This keeps him from buckling at the knees so much. When Kidd is extremely tired or overworked he still shows the narcolepsy tendencies and has gone to his knees, but gives you plenty of warning that he is falling asleep.  Kidd is a lot of fun and very talented. He has worked through some of the Natural Horsemanship training. Kidd has been trail riding alone or with company and does very well if he is bonded with his rider. He still can become afraid when on trails alone, but easily over comes these fears. He is quiet enough for an intermediate and would make a great low level hunter. He should not be jumped more than cross rails due to an inconsistency in his shoulders and gait. He is not unsound, and this can only be felt when riding, it may also be the cause of his narcolepsy.  He is very responsive and knows his cues well. He has been working a lot on lateral flexion and movement and learning quickly. He is ready to move on to the next level. Kidd should remain living in a turn out environment like he is now. He lives outside with a run-in shed and is with a mare and another gelding, so he gets along with anyone and has no problems leaving his herd mates. He trailers well and takes a moment to get accustom to his new surroundings, but will settle in nicely.
