HEMI
~ 1989 to 12/10/04Sadness
has struck again in such a short time. Unexpectedly Hemi has passed away at such
a young age of only 15+/-. he had gone quietly in his sleep, just like Angel.
Seemingly to have passed away in his dreams. The best way to go. He will be
sadly missed, but know he was truly loved his last year.
He's a Hemi...
This 14 year old, 16.2 hand, draft gelding who was tossed away at auction with
NOTHING wrong...
We named him hemi
because he is such a powerhouse. He is all muscle and meat...which made him very
desirable to the butchers at the auction. Hemi rides, drives, picks up all four
feet, easily, and is a real gentleman, with personality to boot. He came
in with heavy city shoes, but is currently barefoot, they way we like it. Are
you looking for the perfect horse for a beginner? Hemi will take anyone
anywhere. He is 200% bomb proof, traffic safe, trail safe, easy keeper ( about
2-3 lbs of grain a day and only a bale of hay/day...not much for a gentle giant
like this). We have only found Hemi to have a slight crack in his
hoof...cosmetic only, other wise we just can't find anything wrong with him. He
gets along with anyone and everyone. Currently he is turned out with a Belgian
mare, Maggie. He doesn't have a mean bone in him. He may be a little slow at
times and takes his time catching up to the crowd...maybe this is why he was
thrown away. We heard he had come out of the city somewhere giving carriage
rides...maybe they didn't want to pay to winterize him...oh well...their loss!
You won't find a nicer gentler giant than this!!!
He gets along
with everyone!
