UPDATE
02/13/2008

UPDATE: Chance has been ridden several times and is really a wonderful horse. He
is great in the ring for anyone to ride, but would need more of an intermediate
rider on the trials for a while until he is comfortable with his rider and
surroundings. Chance can be very clingy to his companions. He should probably
not be turned out with mares since he falls in love so easily. We have ridden
him on trails with his companion Juda and was a very nice relaxing ride. We even
separated and went in opposite directions and all went well. Chance just needs
some more mileage and experience. The small things like ditches and garbage cans
make him take a second look and he prefers the other horse to investigate
anything new first. He is a follower, not a leader. He is sound, healthy and
quite the looker.
Placement Fee: $750
Right now I am relaxing at Graterford for the winter and will come home when
someone would like to see me. (SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY)

Original Write Up: My farm was sold and I was evicted.
I am 16 years, and large at
16.1 hh. I am a gelding. I have not been ridden a lot lately because my
friend I lived with would get very upset when I leave, so I worried about
him. I was a race horse but left that career due to chips in my knees.
Supposedly that is a common occurrence among race horses. I was never very
sore due to it. I am an over grown puppy dog. I like people and am very
easy to be around. I haven't had a lot of formal training but am willing
to learn a new career. Due to the potential of re-injury I should not be
jumped. I am a nice mover and maybe I could learn some dressage. I have
been having some adjustment issues at my new home and have lost a few
pounds. I seem to be settling in now and learning the new routine. I get
very attached to mares so i should not be turned out with one. I have some
training needs with a bit since I really do NOT want one in my mouth, I
have been doing well naturally...riding without a bit. I have not been on
trails yet due to some extra desensitizing of things that make me a little
nervous. I learn quickly and will make an awesome trail horse if given the
time. at this time I should not be ridden by an inexperienced person.
